The classes can be in one of two studios.

On completion of each term the student can then progress to the next level. The Teachers follow a course schedule of weekly moves that incorporate turns, lifts, non-weight bearing maneuvers and combinations, so each student gains strength, flexibility and pole confidence to his/her desired level. The student nominates his/her session time of choice at enrollment which then remains fixed for the duration of the course. All courses are taught across an 8 week term and consist of a weekly 1 hour session of intense pole instruction combined with dance orientated warm-up and cool down. Look closely, open the door and go up the stairs. At Bobbi’s Pole Studio our classes are designed to suit all types of students, from Beginners to Advanced, industry to non-industry and everyone in between. They are located at 11A Bukit Pasoh Road, very easy to miss. Not a bad idea to check them out, especially if you aren’t keen on locking yourself into multiple terms like how all the other studios organize their classes. Prices for their bras start at $55 (if i remember correctly). BadKitty Pole Fit kit!! Yay! You can order stuff through them (just ask for their catalogue) and orders generally take 3-4 weeks to arrive. A total of 12 poles, a change room with a loo, an in-house shop that stocks iTac, Dry Hands, yoga blocks and straps and…. Milan Pole Dance Studio is small, very pretty and they have BLACK LIGHT so your glo-in-the-dark stuff will SHINE (awesome!).

If you see someone who loves their inverts on the left, wear more sporty looking stuff (or DirtyBirdy gear), most likely they’re from my school.
#BOBBI POLE STUDIO SINGAPORE MISS POLE DANCE HOW TO#
I’m not sure how to identify girls from Acropolates though, but I guess they would be like a Bobbi’s girl but in less flashy gear. omg I can’t remember! But it’s also 42mm and spinning and they look like they are made of chrome too. If you see someone being really comfy on a spinning pole and loving their inverts from the right, chances are they are from Bobbi’s – the dead giveaway of course would be that they often are decked out in very glam gear (like Mika, Bobbi’s own stuff, BadKitty etc…) Oh yes, I didn’t mention what poles Bobbi’s uses. All the other studios get you to practice tricks on one side – so it’s really easy to figure out where the pole dancers here get their training from. Best thing about this studio, apart from the charismatic Prana, is that you HAVE to do everything on both sides. I learnt some cool tricks tonight like a Scorpio into a twisted flatline and some other tricks like the ever painful and demoralizing knee hold (sobs). The good thing about pole gym class is that there’s many variations allowed for the tricks that are taught. Stainless steel doesn’t seem to heat up as much as chrome does, so I found myself slipping and sliding and *finally* buying a bottle of Dry Hands. I say finally because I got through a year at Groove without needing any of those grip enhancers and I don’t have sweaty palms. Sure, a smaller diameter is easier to grab onto for most petite hands, but when it comes to gripping with your thighs or knees, let’s just say there’s a lot less to hold onto. Meh, you might think, what the %^%& difference would that make? Let me tell you… A WORLD of difference especially when you are a novice like me. First of all, Lupit Poles are 42mm stainless steel, whilst at Groove, the X-poles are 45mm chrome. I stayed on for Pole Gym Open – I expected lots more conditioning but it was a 50-50 conditioning and tricks class. Fun anyway! We learnt the fireman spin and did a very short choreo of a martini, fireman spin and finished with a pole turn point (or pirouette – whatever you understand).

and the studio has 42mm spinning Lupit poles) I had SUCH a difficult time. I tried their pole dance basic lesson – and because I’m inexperienced at spinning poles (see previous post. If you did have a look at her video, you would expect that her class is gonna be Tough. She says the funniest things to get the class motivated, like ‘you have nothing to lose… except calories!’ in her Québécois French accent. It’s a good way to sample what the studio has to offer, and you know what? They have Prana to offer! She’s so funny and cool and omg is she strong. They have a few intro packages to choose from, but I think this one has been the most popular amongst the girls I know. I went down to Milan Pole Dance Studio tonight and got their 3 class intro package ($60). Notebook (yes I am a geek so I write down choreo sequences and combos so that I can practice) Sport deodorant (I am paranoid of stinking the people around me up), Wipes (Singapore is so damn hot and humid ’nuff said),
